Islanders: the cartoon
For the last twenty years or so, Islanders cartoons (and Raindrops, their second cousins once removed) have (dis)graced the pages of newspapers and magazines in coastal BC. The most extensive runs were in the Haida Gwaii Observer, where they originated, but they have also appeared for many years in Wavelength Paddling Magazine as well as other regional publications. They even made a few appearances in the Vancouver Sun, Macleans and rabble.ca. Go stick figures go! Over time some 500 cartoons were submitted. Many were in response to local events and were only relevant for that brief shining moment. Others have a bit more staying power and we have collected a bunch of them. Enjoy!
